The 41 ft. KNIT WITS, a fiberglass sport fishing yacht, launched in 1960 and completely revolutionized the industry and set the benchmark for all other yachts and has continued to do so for decades. NEW in the model line-up of the successful Hatteras GT Convertible Sportfishers, is the Hatteras GT59 sportfish. The GT59 is midway between the Hatteras GT45X and the Hatteras GT70, but built with its uniquely designed mold, from the keel up for big game tournament fishing. The Hatteras GT Convertibles have a proven hull design that provides great seakeeping ability with speed and comfort in the rough North Carolina coastal waters where the Gulf Stream smacks into counter currents. The hull’s sharp entry, Carolina flare, variable degree deadrise in bottom and lifting strakes, along with 89,000 lbs. of displacement contribute to the GT59’s wave-crushing power, with the added stability of a Seakeeper Gyro Stabilizer and the low center of gravity inherent in Convertible yachts. Performance anglers of different regional styles will be equally impressed with the GT59 capabilities, beautiful clean lines and luxurious comfort. The twin CAT C-32A 1900HP powerplant will do 40+ knots top end and cruise in the low to mid 30’s. With a whopping 1,750 gallon fuel capacity, the GT59 will get you to the fishing hotspots and back.
The GT59 features a shallow 4’9″ draft through use of tunnel hull drive and a solid fiberglass bottom that is puncture resistant. The painted hull, deck and superstructure require less maintenance. The 18’9″ beam is widest in class, allowing 3 ensuite staterooms and salon/galley layout for comfortable extended offshore cruising or fishing trips. Cockpit layout is typical of most sportfish yachts of tournament caliber and is also great for cocktail party entertaining with foldout seating, a removeable table that fits in the stanchion base of the fighting chair, in addition to the Mezzanine cushioned and air-conditioned seating. Although the emphasis throughout the GT59 is on fishing, the bridgedeck also invites sociability with seating for 6 people, on lounges with reversible backrests. The Palm Beach center console helm gives the Captain excellent sightlines and ability to see bow and cockpit. Thrusters and gears aid in tight maneuvering and docking. Ready to buy?
